Listen to SuperManager Podcast 0 now:

Christine: You’re listening to SuperManager, the podcast for people who manage people and business. With ideas, trends, and expert interviews to help you be a super manager.
Sam: So many things are changing. Laws, people, technology. But the good news is that with a little help from some super friends, change doesn’t have to be your Kryptonite. Oh, for Gosh Sakes. Who came up with this? Olivia. Hey,

Sam: okay. So I was at one time a pretty good leader. I didn’t have authority, but I did have a real passion for the projects that I took on, and because others could feel that energy, they willingly wanted to be a part of whatever I was working on. So of course this led to a management position and it all fell apart. I found personally that being responsible for the performance of other people is not an easy task. I decided to leave my corporate management position behind to start my own business producing corporate video. Eventually that business grew and there I was again, trying to hire and manage people.

Sam: I’ve had to learn a lot through books, classes, research, and unfortunately a lot of trial and error. I’ve met a lot of really great people, experts along the way who have offered some great advice and helped me improve tremendously… Just sitting around the table with small groups of different people with different expertise, different backgrounds, different perspectives, and so I’ll walk in the park and a walk in the park, right. And so I continue to do this. Only now, I want others to be a super fly on the wall, hopefully get out of it what I did and maybe a little entertainment. Some of my friends are real characters. You know who you are,

Sam: So welcome to super manager. It’s a podcast dedicated to those who feel the weight of the company on their shoulders. If you take your responsibilities seriously, whether it’s training, hiring, managing people or projects leading or running an office, or just keeping everyone in the loop, then you’re not alone. You are a super manager and this podcast is for you.

Sam: We’ll be hosting a short 15 to 20 minute discussion each week so you can listen in on your Monday morning drive into work, during your nice quiet well deserved, a lunch break, or during that “clear your head” walk you take or should be taking… Maybe with a friend. We’ll discuss things like current trends and how they affect the workplace, things that can help you to be more successful or to make your team more successful, and just for fun, the occasional office horror stories. Add a ray of sunshine to your day and make you feel better about yourself by hearing about other people’s epic failures.

Sam: We’re primarily focused on hiring, training, management and communication, but may have and occasional case study… What’s worked for others and what hasn’t.

Sam: If you have suggestions or topics you’d like to discuss, go to our super manager, Facebook or linkedin groups and post your suggestions. Once we really get rolling, we’ll start taking questions and comments from the groups on upcoming topics so we can pull the listeners into the conversation.

Sam: And check out our website. cn-video.com/supermanager for our super manager resource center with more podcasts, seminars, ideas, and articles.
